So close.....

Our countdown is getting closer! It is a little weird to know the exact day and time of our little ones' births (unless of course we get bumped again like we did with J.R.). In a way, knowing is helpful to prepare...but also overwhelming trying to get the whole to-do list done! We started this paper chain about 50 days ago and the boys have had fun taking turns ripping off each loop.

BJ and I feel so blessed. Friends and family have been so good to us during this crazy time in BJ's job, my mom's cancer, and the coming of our baby. Tonight our dear friends/family, The Wohlds and Freemans, watched our boys so we could go out one last time before Baby J joins the world. We had a great time...and as tradition, tried to decide on a name. :)

Just thought I would add this pic of my baby napping with his baby. He has become very attatched to Jared's "baby Isaac" lately. Hopefully, he won't try to carry the real baby the same way he carries around this one. :)

The Pumpkin Patch

Homeschool Soccer

Jared and Jesse played homeschool soccer this year. BJ and I love how low-key it is...only meeting once a week for 8 weeks. We appreciate that it is parent run and begins with a devotional. It was also great having a chance to visit with the other parents.Devotion time!

The countdown for our new little guy is getting close. A couple of weekends ago I kind of started worrying about where we will put all the clothes, blankets, burp rags, etc. for our baby. Life has been so different lately. I honestly thought we would know where we would be moving by now and our home would be in a transition of being boxed up. Well, we are still here....and I like order! Jesse knew of my concerns and announced that he was going to make me a shelf for the baby's things. He ran into a little trouble trying to cut the boards and had daddy come help. I was so impressed and proud of the work he did. BJ said the only part he helped with were the cuts. Jesse measured, marked lines, and nailed it together. Just to help me out and make my life easier. :)

After I painted it, we moved the shelf upstairs and stocked it with a few blankets, bibs, and hats waiting for baby's arrival.
Watching Jesse nail away gave me perspective on life. These boys do take a lot of work, energy, and storage space, but what a blessing. The thought dawned on me that even if my child was born and everything wasn't perfectly in order...it will still be okay! :)

Focaccia bread

I had been wanting to make focaccia bread and finally got around to it! I used the recipe here. BJ thought it was great. The boys liked it as well, but scraped off the rosemary. I am trying to get over my intimidation with yeast breads...and this recipe was easy! I would need to double it though if we ever had company. My hearty eaters went through both rounds in one meal. :)
