30 Weeks

This pregnancy has gone by pretty fast so far. I have reached the 30 week mark....only nine more to go. Our c-section is scheduled for October 27, the day before BJ's birthday! He wanted this child to be born on his birthday, but our doctor is not working the 28th. :)

Although I am not prepared for this baby's arrival yet, I am excited to meet him. He is a very active boy already...and seems to come alive during the nights. His brothers enjoy trying to feel his kicks and talking to him. Justin asked me the other day if my belly button was the baby's eye. :)

We have been gearing up for our school year to begin. I came up with a loose schedule to keep us on track. We will see how well we can stick to it when our little one joins the fam. There are a lot of "things" going on in our life right now, but God gives us the grace, courage, and strength we need to take on one more. Our baby's arrival will be a true blessing.

My hunters

Today, while Justin was playing in our backyard, he started screaming because he saw a snake. I didn't believe him until I saw it...and tried to keep my cool. My great hunters chased him down with their tomahawks and killed it to protect the womenfolk and children. I will admit that I was a little relieved. For whatever reason, I am a chicken when it comes to snakes....and frogs, lizards, spiders, etc. They would have kept the snake for a pet, but I am just not ready for that yet!

County Fair Time

I LOVE being with my family, seeing the animals, eating scones, drinking lemonade, running in to friends, listening to friends perform, and watching my boys.
(I don't love the bags of junk they collect at all the booths!!!)
Here are a few animal pics of the fair....

After we arrived home, and the bags of stuff were dumped out, BJ was excited to find the same Smokey Bear comic book he remembered as a child. Of course they had to read it before bed. :)

The next day Jesse "played fair" winning the blue ribbon!

Cool Kitchen = Happy Mommy

Here is a great and easy recipe....perfect for hot summer days since it does not use the oven!

Buttercup Squares
3/4 c. butter, melted
3 c. crushed graham crackers (about 1 1/2 pkgs.)
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients together, except the chocolate chips. Pat into a 9x13 pan. Melt chocolate chips and spread over mixture. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes or until firm. Cut into squares.

Enjoy!

Oldies but Goodies....

Then....
and Now...

During Oregon State Camp meeting, the guys (and Nicole) were asked to sing pre-service Wednesday night. It was great to see everyone again...except we were missing Matt and Nikki who couldn't make it out from Montana. My how we all have aged! And check out part of the second generation.....(I think between all four members there are now nine-almost ten- children. I won't point out who contributed half of that figure!)

The boys had fun getting reacquainted.
Just thought all you WPC friends might get a kick out of seeing this! :)

The Dodsworths

I can't even begin to express how good it was to see my family from Colorado! It had been nine years since our last get together, when Grandpa passed away. Having Justin move to Bellingham has been a real treat. We just love his visits...and it brought his family on a vacation to the Northwest. :) Unfortunately, Justin was gone on a business trip the day they came to our home for lunch.
Jared, Jaden, Jesse, and two Wiley girls playing in the treehouse. :)

Ashley was a flower girl in our wedding ten years ago.

J.R. feeding Brandon and Treavor blueberries...a NW treat!

So glad you guys could come see us!

A completed project!

I finished my rug! This was such a fun project. I started it at my mother-in-laws house during one of our visits....and I couldn't put it down. I knew that once I got back to my home, progress would be much slower! :) Being the only female in this house, it is always fun to see my boys' excitement over such things. They encouraged me as I crocheted. "Wow mom, your doing really good. It is getting so big!" They were as excited to see it in front of our kitchen sink as I was. :)

John Russel Kuykendall

In two short years.....

Isn't it amazing how God designed us?

My baby is now two years old. What a blessing he has been to our family. There was a time when doctors told us he may never walk...and I get to see his little legs run to try to keep up with his big brothers. We thank God for the miracles that have taken place in his life. Even after three other boys, J.R. still has such a unique personality. He is our singer! He loves to sing songs even if he can't say the words. J.R. also has a strong opinion about life. :) Sometimes I marvel at how many different ways God could make Kuykendall boys. You would think that after this many He would be running out of ideas!

Happy Birthday J.R.! We love you!

Party Time!

Today we were blessed to have family up for a visit and joint birthday party! John Russel was born on his Aunt Mindy's birthday. It was so nice of BJ's family to make the trip up...especially since we do not know how many more parties we will be having in this home. A birthday messege from Jesse. :)

J.R. is trying out the stool that Jared made for him. I thought it was very sweet of Jared to build something for his little brother. J.R. knew exactly what to do with it!

After presents, we enjoyed cupcakes and icecream cake. J.R. loves sweets....not sure where he got that! :)

The men in the family (and Reaghan) went to the car races after the party. I got to spend a quiet evening with Justin and J.R. It was fun to watch my two year old play with his new toys.
My boys are growing up so fast. I am sure thankful to have another little boy on the way. :)

Our new little critters...

Today we made ladybugs out of pavers. When I saw this idea (thank you Aunt LaVisa) I thought it would be a fun craft for the boys....a keeper. I tend to be a thrower-outer. Anyway, we all had fun. J.R. painted for a while then took his nap. Justin took many "breaks" when he got bored. Jared and Jesse loved it.

This evening Daddy took a break from working around the yard to do antennae duty. He laughed about using tie-wire for our craft. I told him I thought it was cute that he was crafting. :)
Our finished bugs. :)

Beach Day

We found the best place to beat the heat......

is at the beach!

Wednesday, BJ was sent home early from the construction site because of the heat. We were all pretty miserable so BJ suggested at trip to Westport. Driving in an air conditioned suburban sounded like a great idea!

The weather was absolutely perfect. I don't think I could even describe how great it felt to escape the heat for a few hours. Towards the end of our day we even felt chilly...and welcomed it!

The boys had a great time playing in the sand and water. What a blessing to just sit back and watch them enjoy each other and God's creation.

He restoreth my soul.
God is so good.
