Woo-Hoo....We went to Colorado!

The day after Christmas BJ, Joshua, Josiah, and I flew to Colorado for my cousin, Big Justin's wedding.  This was an exciting and crazy time!  Mostly crazy trying to deal with the to-do's of Christmas and getting packed and ready for a trip. Even though I can multi-task, I usually have to focus on one event and then work on the next.  Thankfully we didn't fly out until the afternoon.  :)
Once we landed and got our rental car we met my dad for dinner. The last time we saw him was the summer of 2010 so this was his first time to meet the twins.  We had a nice time visiting before making the long drive to Wray.  (A place I love....pretty sure I've mentioned that a time or two!)
It was so good to see family again.  I really wish we could have stayed longer and brought all the boys with us.  Our big boys were so sad to miss out.  On a drive to let the twins nap we stopped by my mom and Aunt's old school.  It was hard to relive the many memories of my mother.  This was where she grew up and where she took us for our vacations every year.
BJ and I are always fascinated with the plains....you can see for miles.  Definitely a change of scenery from our part of Oregon.

Some of my family at the rehearsal.
Justin was so sweet to let a bunch of us crash at his house.  A little crazy sharing one bathroom with everyone, but great to hang out and visit with my Dodsworth cousins. We played a movie to help calm the twins down before bed.  They were enjoying being free from cribs on this trip.  :)
The big day!  I actually missed the whole ceremony because I watched the bins in the nursery.  However, I had such a great time visiting with my cousin-in-law, Priscilla. And, everyone told me BJ did a great job marrying them. :)

Here I am with my cousins, Duaine and Doyle.  I have many memories with these two.  It still weirds me out to be a "grown-up" now with them.  :)
The trip was a lot of fun.  BJ and I had a great time together and it was neat to focus on our youngest two.  Congratulations, Justin and Fawn. We are so glad we could share your special day with you!

Disneyland (part 5)

Our last super yummy big breakfast.
Waiting to head back to the airport.
On the flight to Aneheim our twins' ears hurt so bad during the landing.  It was so sad.  The first night we were there BJ walked 2 miles one way to Walgreens for medicine that would make them more comfortable on the flight home.  Both of the bins ended up sleeping for a good portion of this flight.
I should also add that traveling with a large family can be a little challenging.  I'm not sure we could have done all the security checkpoints without help from the Johnsons.  Wow.....that part was crazy. BJ even was singled out for a full body search. :)  Also, just boarding the plane with our carry-ons and littles and trying to get settled was an adventure.  :)  I had been so excited for my boys to fly because I had such fond memories of flying all the time as a child.  Now that we got that checked off our list, I am good with waiting until all the boys are older before flying as a family again!
Our family had such a nice time and made some special memories on this trip.  Thank you Aunt Connie and Uncle Gary for all the planning you put into making this happen.  And thank you, Miss Corby for loving on my boys and helping me keep track of them all.  :)

Disneyland (part 4)

Day 4 was Justin's 8th birthday!!!
Both Judson and Johnny insisted on buying these rifles for their souvenir.  Jud has hardly put his down.

Splash Mountain was a favorite of the boys.

For Justin's birthday, the Johnsons treated us to dinner at the Big Thunder Ranch.  It was delicious!

A few of the boys were wanting their souvenirs from Cars Land, so we made a quick dash back over to California Adventure.  I loved riding Soarin' Over California again!  I remember loving that ride 10 years ago.  :)
These two really hung in there.  They had their moments and definitely enjoyed any time they got out of their strollers.  It was crazy at times, but it wouldn't have been the same without them.
Ready to head home.....

Disneyland (part 3)

Day 3 we spent at California Adventure.  Wow....Cars Land was pretty amazing!  They did an excellent job making it look like the movie.  :)
We have a lot of pictures on this ride, but it was one our least favorites. :)  BJ and I could hardly get our tire to move!

I sat this ride out....someone had to stay with the bins, and I was okay with not getting soaked. :)
Justin really wanted to spend some of his souvenir money on cotton candy.  He was sweet to share with us all.

Sleepy bins.
A few highlights of this day included.....
-Johnny loving Goofy's Sky School.  He was so scared when he rode it with me the first time, but then wanted to go back over and over again.  It was cute to see him tell Justin all about it and how Justin didn't need to be scared or worried.
-The giant corn dogs that we bought on Aunt Connie's recommendation. Yummy! :)
-Jesse telling us a month later that he almost got lost when we stopped to get the corn dogs because he kept on walking.  And Jared chiming in, "Oh, I watched you get lost."  Hopefully Jared would have come to his rescue if Jesse hadn't figured it out!

Disneyland (part 2)

Big breakfast before the big day.  Here are the highlights of day two.......
I asked Johnny if he was excited to go to Disneyland and he said, "I don't even know what Disneyland is!" But, he was still excited.  :)

Ending the day with dinner at Red Robin.....an early celebration of someone's birthday!
