Judson and BJ's Birthdays

Judson turned 4....and BJ turned 38!
Oh our sweet Jud.  He is definitely still full of boundless energy.  There are active kids, and then there's Jud.  :)  We love him though....and he keeps us on our toes.  Jud loves dressing like a cowboy with two belts because that is what Roy Rogers wears.  He also really loves sweets, but we have to control that because he is really affected by sugar.  He is a very thankful boy who always seems to remember to say, "thank you, mommy."  Jud loves to help daddy with projects and was especially excited to get his toy power tools to help take down the barn.  :)  He is already so excited to go hunting someday and really doesn't understand why he can't yet.  Judson is a lot of fun and brings so much joy into our life.

My sweet hubby loves to celebrate his birthday with Jud....and it seems fitting since Jud has a similar energy level to BJ's as a child.  :)  I love this man and am so proud to be his wife.  He carries quite a load being a pastor and daddy to all our boys, but he carries it well.  I'm so thankful to have a husband that has chosen to make us his hobby.  :)
Happy Birthday, BJ and Jud.  We love you both!!!

We are all looking forward to seeing her again.

Boy toys

This frontend loader is parked at our place right now.  A couple of wonderful guys from our church brought this over to help us with a few projects around here.  As you can imagine, the boys are thrilled to have this to play on.  :)

This is the wheat on the back of our property that Mr. Bauman is farming.  I have a fond place in my heart for wheat fields since my grandpa was a wheat farmer.

What to do?

While BJ was away on his conference the boys ran into a little trouble.  :)
I texted BJ a picture when it happened so he would have something to look forward to when he returned.

The really funny thing is that a week later BJ got his tractor stuck....in the same spot!

Like father like son. :)

playing together

It's so cute to see these three ride like the wind....in the comforts of their own room.  :) Right now Judson is a source of entertainment and joy along with sometimes fear and anxiety to our twins.  They usually try and run the other way if they see him coming.  Jud's bear hugs and tackles are a little overwhelming. I know, however, that in another year or so they will all be the best of friends.  :)

Halloween

Oh Halloween.  The past few years BJ and I have been torn about whether we should be celebrating it at all.  Large Families on Purpose posted an excellent article regarding their decision and reasons why they choose not to celebrate.  They have a real point.
For this Halloween, however, we had two cows, a Beethoven, Johnny Appleseed, an Indian (guess who?), one lone cowboy, and a knight in shining armor. (The typical homeschool family. :)
Grandma Sally did an amazing job on Jared's Beethoven suit.

Here's the crew!

Birthday Celebrations (part II)

The celebration continued a few evenings later with my in-laws.  Can you guess where we ate?  I am really loving Chevy's right now.  I think their chips and salsa and chicken enchiladas are delicious! And guess what?...kids eat free!

Birthday Celebrations! Part I

October is our family's birthday month.....3 out of 9!  I know BJ is thrilled to celebrate his special day only one day apart from little Jud-bud.  Probably fitting too since Judson has the same energy level that BJ had as a child. :)
Red Robin is a must when you have two free meals. :)

Our Jud turned three on October 27th.  And while he still keeps us on our toes, he is a true delight.  I also would probably not be burning as many calories if he were not around. :)

We knew that Jud would love to have his own set of "ear clugs."  He is all boy. :)

We thought it was time for his own mot-te-cycle. He loves it!
It is a joy watching you leave toddlerhood.  We know the Lord has something special in mind for our high-energy boy.  :)
We love you Judson Lee!!!

BJ has been a part of my life for 19 years....and I was 18 when we first met.  You can do the math. :) I am so happy to be growing old with him.

"Happy is the man that hath his quiver full..." Psalm 127:5
Happy Birthday, my love!
