Family Night

Friday night we took the boys bowling. It had been a long week. Because Daddy had been working construction during the day and seal coating in the evenings he hadn't been around much. Needless to say, we were all ready for some family time. The big boys had a blast....and J.R. and I enjoyed watching them.

Here is clip of the cutest little bowler. :)

Jesse's action shot!

Look at the air time on that ball!

We ended the evening with a little icecream treat for mommy...since I didn't get to bowl! :) Jesse wrote us a sweet note and Jared insisted on giving us some of his change. :) We are blessed.

Life has been so busy lately. I feel like I haven't blogged in soooo long. Kind of a lame post, but here are a few pics of some of the things we have been up to....

School! We started on the 9th...and have been going strong since. Having a schedule has really helped our mornings go more smoothly. It also has been a relief for mommy because I know we are not leaving anything important out. :) I even start the school day, after breakfast and chores, with a "quick clean." (It is hard for me to function when everything is a mess!)

Getting our wiggles out. I love how J.R. thinks he is a big boy now!
Peppers from our garden.

I only canned 14 quarts of pears this year.... and that even felt like such a huge task for me. I know I am in a busy season of life right now.
My littlest bean snapper. After he lost interest, Jesse and I had to re-sort his pile. :)

We also made as many trips as we could to OHSU to visit my mom. She is out of the hospital now and staying in Wilsonville for two weeks before she can finally go back home. Although this was a difficult and painful time, we are all very encouraged by how well she is doing. My boys are excited to finally visit Grandma since they were not allowed on her floor in the hospital. Thank you to all of you that are praying for her during this time.
Now I am off to tackle my "nesting" to-do list.....

Sisters

It is so fun to be pregnant at the same time as my little sis! Justin was born only two weeks after their first daughter, Esther. This time around my due date is a few weeks before Amy's. This will be their third girl! If I had a quarter for every time someone said we should swap kids....I would be rich. :)

A BIG thank you to my wonderful and artistic brother-in-law who took our picture together. You can always count on him for a little creativity!

Our little singer....

Here is our little singer! J.R. always breaks out in song...and warms our hearts! BJ thinks he has the best breath support out of all the boys. Play this and you will know what I mean! :)

p.s. No one's birthday...just one of his favorite tunes. :)

Sunriver

This past weekend we were invited to join Uncle Joey and Aunt Alison on a little getaway to Sunriver. I was so excited for our little road trip since we haven't done our usual trips this summer. What a fun place for boys!!! Thank you Aunt Visa and Uncle Steve for letting us stay at your place. Here are a few pics of our trip....

Our family visited the lava tubes nearby. BJ said we would just peek in...then decided we needed to walk in a ways. It was a little adventurous for me since I was wearing flips and am pregnant. The big boys loved it, especially Jared. Justin and J.R. were a little nervous. :)

A couple rounds of UNO. Joey and Alison won both games. BJ started to say "Boy, the Kuykendalls aren't doing so well" and then stopped remembering they are Kuykendalls too!
The boys were really excited to use the hot tub. I think they checked the temperature every 5 minutes waiting for it to be warm enough.
(BTW- for anyone wondering why Jesse has a bald spot on the top of his head.....about a month ago he was playing outside, got sap in his hair, and ripped it out. He didn't even know he had taken out a chunk of his hair until we spotted him. It is finally growing back in...thank goodness!)

Appreciate your prayers....

Today my mom went in to have a stem cell transplant. She has multiple myeloma (cancer of the cells). The first two days she will be given intense chemo and then the transplant will take place on Friday. I really don't understand everything, but I know the next few weeks will be rough for her. I would appreciate your prayers for her while she is going through this treatment; her three weeks in the hospital, and then her recovery. Thanks.
